Zavala County Zavala County – Located in the famous Brush Country of South Texas, this special 80,000-acre ranch is a favorite spot for wildlife because of its diverse topography and mixture of mesquite and native brush. Perfectly situated between the Nueces and Rio Grande rivers and only two hours from San Antonio and a short drive south of Uvalde between Highway 57 & 83. Hunting packages available for Whitetail Deer, Native Quail – Bob White and Blues, Dove – White Wing and Mourning, Turkey, Duck and Javelina. Possession: Legal Shooting Hours: Doves (please report leg bands to 1-800-327-BAND): Migratory game bird stamp endorsement required to hunt any doves in any season. NOTE: There is no closed season or bag limit restrictions for Eurasian collared-doves or common pigeons (rock doves); however, it is recommended that plumage be left on these birds for identification purposes.
